There is a facility for resident bicycle storage off the Eighth Street service corridorand additional racks in the basement storage room. At times when these areas are fully occupied, you must store bicycles in your individual living space. The board encourages residents to remove stored bicycles that aren't frequently used to make room for regular users.


Luxor Cleaners, a cleaning and valet service housed in our basement, provides a wide range of cleaning, pressing and alteration services. Laundry can be picked up and dropped off at your door between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday. All other times, it must be left with the concierge for delivery or pick-up. Concierge Desk

On-site services are available through our 24 hour concierge desk. Dial 533-2525 or 800-540-0250 (toll free in Manhattan only) to reach the concierge on duty. Upon request, they can obtain many services: from transportation and messengers to babysitters and dog walkers -- just ask to see if they can help you find what you need.

The fitness center is located in the basement of the south tower, on the left before the valet room. It is open daily between 5:00 a.m. and midnight. This thermostatically-controlled center houses 19 state-of-the-art weight and aerobic machines, dumbbells from five to 50 lbs., benches, a mirrored stretching studio with ballet bars, and televisions that can be activated throughout the gym with personal headsets.

Those interested in becoming members should register with the managing agent. Memberships are $65 (individual) and $90 (dual) per month which can be billed to residents on their monthly management fee statements. Lifetime memberships are also available. A 24 hour, on-site garage operated by Garage Management Corp. (GMC), is a tenant in our building. It has entrances on both Eighth Street (near the service entrance) and on Washington Square North. Telephone: 212-533-8312. Co-op shareholders receive preferential monthly parking treatment. Inquire at the garage office.



A handyman is on from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. seven days a week to assist with minor repairs free of charge. If you need a hand, call the front desk 212-533-2525 or the superintendent 212-475-6760.

Located at the southern end of our ground floor main corridor is one of Two Fifth's most popular attractions – "The Tom and Carla Marcosson Library." Sustained by book donations from the residents (we are always looking for more books--but due to limited space, only fiction and current non-fiction, please). The lending library operates on the honor system. Open 24 hours each day, it is the perfect antidote to late night insomnia.

The library is also available to residents for small meetings such as those of local civic organizations and reading clubs. Reservations for our "cerebral gymnasium" may be made by contacting the building manager – first come, first served.
